A Day For The Arts!

After yesterday's exciting field trip we went back to our regular schedule starting with our AM language class. We then had Dr. Jim Doering come in for a revitalizing guest lecture and he taught us all about how movies can be interpreted differently through music. Our very own Kyle-Sensei performed as a Benshi (traditional Japanese theater narrator) with Dr. Doering playing a live piano score, granting us an entertaining glimpse into the world of silent films. We returned for our enlightening PM language class and later learned all about the history of Japanese poetry in Sana Sensei's lecture, where we were given a project to use our imaginative skills to create our own Haiku (Japanese poems). After a nourishing and hearty dinner, we all worked in our teams to finish preparing our artistic posters for Undoukai (Japanese sports day).
